With more than 100 employees, protoform K. Hofmann GmbH has been active in the mold construction industry for more than 35 years. protoform specializes in the manufacture of series-identical prototypes in the original material. The SPM (Space Puzzle Molding) method was developed especially for this.

In production and manufacturing facilities covering more than 3,000 m2, the company produces prototypes and small and exclusive series in the original plastic with the quality seal "Made in Germany". The forms needed for the SPM method are manufactured in the company's mold construction department at a rate of two molds per day, which means around 300 molds and more than 100,000 different parts per year. Up to now, the company has produced almost 10,000 molds and mold assemblies.

The machinery, which is specially adapted to the SPM method, permits a factory-like process that is up to 50 percent shorter than for conventional molds. Production is carried out to the highest technical standard and with a high degree of automation in an in-house injection molding shop with part assembly using the latest equipment. Careful quality controls and documentation guarantee a reliable quality standard. protoform is certified by VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) in accordance with VDA 6.4 and DIN EN ISO 9001.
